Mistress Massini doubled her score for January with a fluent victory in a staying novice handicap Chase at Catterick on Thursday.

As she escaped a penalty for her comfortable success at Ludlow seven days earlier she was again able to run off a lowly handicap mark of 89.

We sent Mistress Massini to Catterick on Wednesday and she enjoyed a canter round the course in the morning before putting her seal on the race with a minimum of fuss a few hours later.

She led at the last fence on the far side and readily came clear to claim the first prize of £6108 as she beat Holy Street by six lengths.

The trip north was certainly profitable for our jockey Rex Dingle who continues to shine and completed a quick double on the card having earlier won on Uno Mas.

The handicapper is bound to have his say now so I will be looking to run Mistress Massini under a penalty before next Saturday provided she is fine tomorrow morning.

She already has some engagements and I have the option of making further entries for her at Wincanton and Ludlow next Thursday.
