G For Ginger bounced back to form with a decisive front running performance at Uttoxeter on Tuesday evening in the colours of Frosties Friends.

For her jockey Rex Dingle it was a red letter day as he was winning on his first ride as a conditional.

It was a mature performance for a youngster who did exactly as we discussed on G For Ginger, kept things simple and reaped the reward with an eight length victory on the mare on her first start since an operation to sort out her breathing.

We decided she needed surgery as she used to make a little whistle and on the evidence of this success the operation has done the trick.

We’ve only had a handful of runners recently with the ground so quick everywhere but we know G For Ginger handles it, the trip was perfect in this Mares Handicap and she won her bumper at the track two years ago.

Hopefully she can kick on now and so can Rex who has experience as an amateur in point-to-points, has won a couple of hunter chases and has joined us this season after a spell working for David Pipe.

G For Ginger was his first mount for us and the good news is that he can continue to claim an extremely valuable 10lbs riding for us until he achieves two more winners.
