SO GOOD SOJOURN . . . . . .!!
It was good to see Sojourn repay the patience of his owners with a ready success in the bumper at Aintree on Saturday on his second start.
A lovely, big, scopey type who will make a chaser, he has needed time to mature and strengthen since he first came into training. He showed bags of promise on his debut at Newbury almost exactly a year ago when he finished fourth of sixteen and he should have a decent future now that he is coming to hand.
With that experience behind him we were happy to make the running on Saturday if there was no pace on and it was pleasing to see how he quickened the tempo and found plenty more when challenged on his way to beating the favourite Misty Whisky by one and a three quarter lengths. Despite being a bit green and gawky Sojourn won well and is very much one we can look forward to running in the future.
I’m not sure where he will go next though one option is a Listed bumper at Ascot. Now that the rain has come we should be having plenty more runners with four including Acey Milan heading to Ffos Las on Sunday.
