Update on Rex . . . .
I am pleased to report that Rex Dingle is making good progress after the fatal fall of Soulsaver at Ffos Las on Tuesday.
He spent the next 48 hours on his back at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen having various tests, scans and X-rays.
These revealed that he has fractured the C7 vertebrae in his neck. Rex is now in a neck brace but the diagnosis is encouraging, and all being well he will be back in action in a few months.
Rex is in good spirits and looking forward to going home. There is an excellent support system in place for jockeys these days when they are ready to start rehab and physio.
The Injured Jockeys Fund have already been in touch with Rex who can expect to work his way back to fitness at Oaksey House in Lambourn.
It was tough to lose Soulsaver, a horse we loved having around the yard. He gave Richard Matthews, his owner breeder, and his friends so much fun.
There were times when Richard had to be patient with Soulsaver who seemed to save his best form for Fontwell where he gained his third course victory earlier this month.
We are all going to miss him.
