G For Ginger and Rex Dingle shared their second success in a week with a fluent Handicap Hurdle Victory at Worcester on Tuessday evening. The story was much the same as when they won tidily at Uttoxeter on July 10th.

Rex set a rattling good gallop on G For Ginger, who was always in command, jumped soundly and kept well on in the closing stages for a clear cut 15 length triumph.

I couldn't be happier with the mare and her jockey. The wind op that she had in the Spring has given her renewed confidence, and Rex continues to impress since he joined us from David Pipe last month and turned Conditional.

Rex has the right attitude, wants to learn, has no weight problems and is sure to improve as he gains experience. He now needs only one more win before his claim is cut to 7lbs.

Ginger will have a little break to freshen her up before I look for a suitable race for her in a 0 - 130 Handicap. One option is another Mares only event at Uttoxeter.

All 3 of our horses performed with credit at Worcester. Ennistown ran a cracker on his debut for us - to finish a close second to Beneagles. Port Royale then showed lots of promise, coming 3rd to Passing Call in the Mares Maiden Hurdle. She galloped all the way to the line but sadly it proved to be her last race as she collapsed and died from a suspected haemorrhage on the way back to unsaddle. Her death was very upsetting for her owners, and for all of us at the yard.
