Anthony and I are making the most of the summer, with plenty of days out, weddings to attend and some new additions joining the yard.

Enjoy our latest news,

Rachael

Quiet time

We’re enjoying this quiet time, before the horses come in from their summer holidays at the beginning of August. They’ve all had their vaccinations, which means their winter training schedules won’t be interrupted, and they are looking great.

We had a runner at Worcester last night where Tim and Monica Frost’s home bred G For Ginger was just beaten in a mares’ maiden hurdle. It was an encouraging run and she jumped very well. It’s a lovely set up as friends of Tim and Monica are involved in her syndicate and they’ve had a lot of fun.

New addition

Another horse has been added to the fold with a two-year-old by Midnight Legend our latest purchase from Ascot Sales. She’s a beautiful looking horse and we’re very much looking forward to starting her in time.

My Dance was roughed off after her run at Stratford. She’s a lovely mare and although we were slightly disappointed with her run, it was just the wrong type of track for her. She’s an out and out stayer and she was rushed off her feet all the way round.

Duhallow Gesture

Our Goffs purchase Duhallow Gesture is for sale in 20 shares, to form a new partnership. Each share costs £5625 + VAT. Monthly costs will be £93.75 all included. There are just a few shares remaining – not least because she is a hugely exciting prospect for the future. Please take a look at our For Sale page on the website for all the details.

Huge thanks to Matt Bisogno of Geegeez.co.uk and Martin Chapman who have both been fantastic helping us sell the shares. It’s an exciting time with several new owners joining the yard.

Newbury runner

We’re at Newbury tomorrow where Juke Box Jive is entered to run in the Bathwick Tyres Handicap and Horace Hazel is due to run in Stratford’s Stuart Stanley Retro Rebel Handicap Hurdle on Sunday.

Wedding season

Jack and Jade Barber’s wedding was a lovely day at the weekend. It was such a good party as there were a lot of people there from the racing world. Tomorrow we’re going to Gerry Supple and Jo Buck’s wedding that will be another great opportunity to catch up with friends.

Connemara capers

Crispy my Connemara pony did his first dressage competition at Chard Equestrian and we came home with a couple of rosettes! The first test was just getting used to the white boards and he was much better in the second test. I really enjoyed it. He’s been jumping too and is really getting the hang of it. He’s so much fun and such a great pony. He’s only four and it’s all about getting miles on the clock.

In foal Sauvage

Rouquine Sauvage has had her 50-day scan and is in foal to Black Sam Bellamy. It’s lovely to have her here, as she’s means a lot to us.

Her dam No Need For Alarm was trained by Richard Barber and she was a bit of a run away. Anthony rode her everyday to try and settle her so and his sister Teresa looked after her. She retired as a broodmare and we visited her stud where we saw her foal Rouquine Sauvage and bought her. Subsequently we sold her to JP McManus. We have such a connection with her and are so lucky that JP is happy for her to spend her broodmares days with us in Dorset. Fingers crossed she will produce something nice.

My mare Gan On is in foal to Kayf Tara too. She bred Nocturnal Myth and she also has a Milan yearling colt out in the field with Regal Encore’s brother who is by Scirocco. He is such a gorgeous animal and will be 16.2hh.

New forest adventure

We went to the New Forest with Harry Ciara and Ruby Fry. Harry and Ruby were on the back of the bikes and we cycled for 18 miles stopping for lunch on the way. It was such a lovely day and the New Forest is stunning with lots of wild ponies. It’s the first time Harry has been on the back of a bike and he loved it.

Finally, we have a Haygain Steamer for sale. Do get in touch if interested.
