My forays to the Sales . . .so far . . .
I’ve bought two exciting young prospects on spec over the past week as part of my long term plan to upgrade the quality of our team.
First up was the sale at Aintree’s Grand National meeting where I paid £100,000 for an imposing four year old filly Tara West, game winner of her only Point-to-Point in Ireland last month.
Then on Thursday at Cheltenham I snapped up another four year old Irish Point-to-Point winner Deja Vue for £82,000.
I hope and believe they both have loads of potential at a time when racing opportunities for fillies and mares have never been stronger.
I believe that Tara West represents decent value, as later in the Aintree sale Little Light, the horse she beat in her only start, fetched £200,000!
Tara West is an imposing filly, standing 16 hands 2, with a big stride. She is by Kayf Tara who is such an outstanding sire.
Deja Vue is a good sized, quality filly by Fame And Glory and a sister to a Black type performer.
They have both settled in well at Potwell Farm.
